Welcome to Emma Spills The Tea. I am a chronically ill kid who fights for normal every day and I want to help other kids in my similar circumstance to feel less alone or scared. I want to talk about the things that I face in my everyday life so that it will allow people to see that a different normal does not make me any less and it shouldn’t make you treat me or other children with illness like they deserve any less. One day we will take on the world in the way we are meant to make to make a difference. My story started with being born at 29 weeks and weighing in a 2 pounds 6 ounces. Now I look for ways to give back to NICU staff and families. I try to send food on my birthday to remember the medical team that took care of me. The most recent thing I did was tried to think of a way to help the families at the NICU. I like to look at pictures with my mom from when I was in the hospital. Preemie clothes are expensive and the families there often have a lot of bills and expenses from having a child with medical needs. So I donated some preemie clothes to the hospitals to give to the families. I am hoping to spread these ideas to help other people all around to anyone who reads this or listens to my podcast. I will be introducing my podcast in early 2024 on https://open.spotify.com/show/35nfjVOnQZpOHc9dE5yJ8C. I hope you will listen and we can accomplish new things in this journey.
